Alt and Descriptive Text
Making sure SEO-rich content is populated in every field possible (and correctly) is a soft science but a powerful one. Two of the areas that many content creators ignore when they are loading images into a blog or a site CMS are the “Alt Text” (or Alternative Text) and “Descriptive” fields. Search engines cannot crawl visual properties, such as images, pdf’s and screenshots, so if you are loading these into a content management system, the way to have them positively impact SEO is to title them intelligently and fill in the Alt Text field with words that a search engine can crawl so that it identifies it as content.
